Paneer Butter Masala – Rich & Creamy Indian Curry
Paneer Butter Masala is one of the most popular Indian curry recipes loved for its rich, creamy, and mildly spicy flavor. Soft paneer cubes cooked in buttery tomato gravy make this dish perfect with naan, roti, or jeera rice.

Ingredients
For Gravy
2 tablespoons butter
2 tomatoes (chopped)
1 onion (chopped)
8–10 cashews
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt as needed
½ cup fresh cream
Other Ingredients
200g paneer cubes
1 teaspoon kasuri methi
Fresh coriander leaves
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Base
Heat butter in a pan. Add onions and sauté until soft. Add tomatoes and cashews and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Blend the Mixture
Allow the mixture to cool slightly and blend into a smooth paste.
Step 3: Cook the Gravy
Heat butter again in the pan. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Add the prepared tomato paste.
Step 4: Add Spices
Add chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala, and salt. Cook until butter separates from the gravy.
Step 5: Add Paneer
Add paneer cubes and mix gently. Pour fresh cream and cook for 2–3 minutes.
Step 6: Garnish & Serve
Crush kasuri methi between your palms and add it to the curry. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
Pro Tips
Use fresh paneer for soft texture.
Add extra butter for restaurant-style taste.
Do not overcook paneer cubes.
