Preparation Time

Prep Time: 15 Minutes

Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

Total Time: 35 Minutes

Serves: 3–4 People

Ingredients

For Crispy Potatoes

3 large potatoes

3 tablespoons corn flour

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (maida)

Salt to taste

Oil for deep frying

For Honey Chilli Sauce

1 tablespoon oil

1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic

1 tablespoon tomato ketchup

1 tablespoon red chilli sauce

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1½ tablespoons honey

1 small onion (sliced)

1 small capsicum (sliced)

½ teaspoon chilli flakes

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Spring onions for garnish

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin finger-shaped strips. Boil the potato strips in water for 3–4 minutes until slightly soft. Drain the water completely and allow them to cool.

Step 2: Coat the Potatoes

In a mixing bowl, add corn flour, maida, and a pinch of salt. Toss the potato strips well until evenly coated.

Step 3: Fry Until Crispy

Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the potatoes on medium flame until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place them on tissue paper to absorb excess oil.

Step 4: Prepare the Sauce

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in another pan. Add chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, soy sauce, and honey. Mix well to create a glossy sauce.

Step 5: Toss Everything Together

Add sliced onions and capsicum to the sauce and sauté for 1–2 minutes while keeping them crunchy. Add the crispy fried potatoes and toss gently until fully coated in the sauce.

Step 6: Garnish & Serve

Garnish with sesame seeds, chilli flakes, and chopped spring onions. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Pro Tips for Perfect Honey Chilli Potato

Double fry the potatoes for extra crispiness.

Do not overcook the capsicum and onions to maintain crunch.
