Moong Dal Chilla is a nutritious Indian pancake made from soaked yellow moong dal. It’s light, filling, and perfect for breakfast or dinner.

📝 Ingredients

Yellow moong dal – 1 cup (soaked 3–4 hours)

Ginger – 1 tsp (chopped)

Green chilli – 1 (optional)

Cumin seeds – ½ tsp

Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

Salt – to taste

Water – as needed

Onion / capsicum – 2 tbsp (finely chopped, optional)

Oil – for cooking

👩‍🍳 How to Make Moong Dal Chilla

Grind soaked moong dal with ginger and green chilli into a smooth batter.

Add cumin seeds, turmeric, salt, and chopped vegetables. Mix well.

Heat a tawa and grease lightly with oil.

Pour a ladle of batter and spread gently like a dosa.

Cook on medium flame until golden on one side, then flip.

Cook both sides until crisp and cooked through.

Serve hot.

Serve with green chutney, curd, or tomato sauce.
