Chicken Biryani is a flavorful one-pot rice dish made with marinated chicken, basmati rice, and aromatic spices. This easy home-style recipe gives rich taste without restaurant complexity.
📝 Ingredients
For Chicken Marinade
Chicken – 500 g
Curd (yogurt) – ½ cup
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Salt – to taste
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
For Biryani
Basmati rice – 2 cups (soaked 30 min)
Onion – 3 large (thinly sliced)
Tomato – 2 (chopped)
Green chilli – 2 (slit)
Whole spices: bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom
Oil + ghee – 3 tbsp
Mint leaves – ¼ cup
Coriander leaves – ¼ cup
Water – as needed
👩🍳 How to Make Chicken Biryani
Marinate chicken with all marinade ingredients for 30 minutes.
Heat oil and ghee in a heavy pan. Fry onions until golden brown.
Add whole spices, green chillies, and tomatoes. Cook until soft.
Add marinated chicken and cook until chicken is 80% done.
Add soaked rice, mint, coriander, salt, and required water.
Cover and cook on low flame until rice is fluffy and cooked.
Rest for 10 minutes before serving.
