How to Make Rasam (Simple Method)
Ingredients
2 tomatoes (chopped)
2 cups water
2 tbsp rasam powder
Salt to taste
1 small lemon-size tamarind (or 1 tbsp tamarind water)
1 tsp oil or ghee
½ tsp mustard seeds
1 dried red chilli
Few curry leaves
Coriander leaves (optional)
Method
1. Boil tomatoes with water, tamarind, and salt for 5–7 minutes.
2. Mash tomatoes lightly using a spoon.
3. Add rasam powder and boil for 2 more minutes (do not overboil).
4. Heat oil/ghee in a small pan.
5. Add mustard seeds, red chilli, and curry leaves. Let it splutter.
6. Pour tempering into rasam.
7. Add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
🍲 Hot rasam is ready!
Serve with rice or drink like soup 😊
