Homemade Potato Chips Recipe
🥔 Ingredients
4–5 large potatoes
Cold water
Salt
Oil for deep frying
Optional seasonings: chilli powder, pepper, chaat masala, peri-peri masala
🍳 Step-by-Step Method
1️⃣ Slice the Potatoes
Wash and peel potatoes.
Use a slicer to cut very thin slices (chip-like).
Thinner slices = more crispy.
2️⃣ Remove Starch (Very Important)
Put potato slices in a bowl of cold water.
Wash 2–3 times until water becomes clear.
Soak for 10–15 minutes.
This helps chips become extra crispy and prevents sticking.
3️⃣ Dry the Slices
Drain the water completely.
Pat the potato slices using a cloth or tissue.
Make sure there is no moisture.
4️⃣ Heat the Oil
Heat oil on medium flame.
Don’t keep the flame too high (chips will burn).
5️⃣ Fry the Chips
Add a handful of slices at a time.
Fry until light golden and crispy.
Keep stirring so they fry evenly.
Remove and place on tissue paper.
