How to make paav bajji

 

Here is a simple and tasty Pav Bhaji recipe you can make at home 👇😋


 Pav Bhaji Recipe (Street Style)


🧅 Ingredients (for 2–3 people)


For Bhaji


2 potatoes (boiled)


1 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, beans, peas, cauliflower)


1 onion (finely chopped)


2 tomatoes (finely chopped)


1 capsicum (finely chopped)


1–2 green chillies


1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste


2 tbsp butter


2 tbsp oil


1 tsp cumin seeds


1½ tbsp pav bhaji masala


½ tsp turmeric


1 tsp red chilli powder (or Kashmiri chilli for colour)


Salt to taste


1 tbsp lemon juice


2 tbsp coriander leaves

For Pav


4 pav buns


Butter


A pinch of pav bhaji masala for toasting


🍳 How to Make Bhaji


1. Boil & mash vegetables


Boil potatoes + mixed veggies until soft.


Mash roughly and keep aside.


2. Prepare masala


Heat oil + butter in a pan.


Add cumin seeds, then onions. Fry until golden.


Add ginger-garlic paste → sauté until raw smell goes.


Add tomatoes and cook until mushy.


3. Add spices


Add pav bhaji masala, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt.


Cook for 1 minute.


4. Add mashed vegetables


Mix well and mash inside the pan using a masher.


Add a little water to adjust consistency.


5. Add capsicum


Cook for 5–7 minutes. (Capsicum gives street-style flavour.)


6. Finish with butter


Add more butter 😋, lemon juice, and coriander leaves.


Mix well and simmer for 3 minutes.


🧈 How to Toast Pav


1. Heat a tawa.



2. Add butter + a pinch of pav bhaji masala.



3. Place pav buns and toast until golden and slightly crispy.


🍽️ Serve Hot


Serve bhaji with butter-toasted pav, onions, lemon wedges, and extra butter on top.
