How to make saft bread
Here’s a simple homemade bread recipe you can try:
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour (or wheat flour for healthier bread)
1 cup warm water
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp dry yeast
2 tbsp oil or butter
1 tsp salt
Method
1. Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, add warm water, sugar, and yeast.
Stir gently and let it rest for 8–10 minutes until frothy.
2. Make the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, add flour and salt.
Pour in the activated yeast mixture and oil/butter.
Mix and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3. First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, until it doubles in size.
4. Shape the Bread
Punch down the dough to release air.
Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf tin.
5. Second Rise
Cover and let it rise again for 30–40 minutes.
6. Bake
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown on top.
Tap the loaf; if it sounds hollow, the bread is done.
7. Cool & Serve
Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
