How to make Almond milk

Here’s a simple way to make fresh almond milk at home 🥛🌰

Ingredients:

Raw almonds – 1 cup

Water (for soaking) – enough to cover almonds

Fresh water – 3 to 4 cups (for blending)

Honey / dates / sugar – 1 to 2 tbsp (optional, for sweetness)

Vanilla extract – ½ tsp (optional)

Pinch of salt – optional

Preparation:

1. Soak the almonds

Wash and soak almonds in water overnight (8–12 hours).

If in a hurry, soak in hot water for 2 hours.

After soaking, drain the water and peel off the almond skins (optional, for smoother milk).

2. Blend

Add soaked almonds and 3–4 cups of fresh water to a blender.

Blend on high speed for 1–2 minutes until smooth and creamy.

3. Strain

Place a clean muslin cloth, nut milk bag, or fine strainer over a bowl.

Pour the blended almond mixture and squeeze/strain to separate the liquid from the pulp.

4. Flavor (optional)

Add honey, dates, or sugar for sweetness.

Mix in vanilla extract or a pinch of salt for extra taste.

5. Store

Pour almond milk into a clean bottle/jar.

Refrigerate and use within 3–4 days. Shake well before use.

✨ Tip: Don’t throw away the leftover almond pulp! You can dry it and use it in cookies, smoothies, or as an addition to roti/chapati dough.
