Homemade Margherita Pizza

#### **Ingredients:**
##### **For the Dough:**
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
##### **For the Toppings:**
- ½ cup tomato sauce (or crushed San Marzano tomatoes)
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella (torn into pieces)
- 4–5 fresh basil leaves
- Extra olive oil for drizzling
#### **Instructions:**
1. **Prepare the Dough:**
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add warm water and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes (or longer for better flavor).
2. **Preheat the Oven:**
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
3. **Roll Out the Dough:**
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza peel.
4. **Assemble the Pizza:**
- Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle oregano and salt.
- Add torn mozzarella pieces on top.
5. **Bake:**
- Transfer to the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
6. **Finish & Serve:**
- Remove from the oven, add fresh basil leaves, and drizzle with olive oil.
- Slice and enjoy!
