Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) Recipe
**Ingredients:**
*For the Chicken Marinade:**
- 500g boneless chicken (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- ½ cup yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
### **For the Gravy:**
- 2 tbsp butter (unsalted)
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 2 large tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- ½ cup fresh cream
- ¼ cup cashew paste (soaked cashews blended with little water)
- 1 tbsp dried fenugreek leaves (*kasuri methi*, crushed)
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
*Instructions:*
### **Step 1: Marinate the Chicken**
1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and oil.
2. Add the chicken pieces and coat them well with the marinade.
3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
### **Step 2: Cook the Chicken**
1. Heat a pan or grill with a little oil.
2. Cook the marinated chicken on medium heat until it’s lightly charred and cooked through. Set aside.
