How to make basan halwa


 Here’s a simple and tasty Besan Halwa (Gram Flour Halwa) recipe — rich, aromatic, and perfect for any festival or sweet craving ๐Ÿฏ✨


๐Ÿงพ Ingredients


Besan (gram flour) – 1 cup


Ghee – ½ cup


Sugar – ¾ cup to 1 cup (as per taste)


Water or milk – 2 cups


Cardamom powder – ½ tsp


Chopped dry fruits (cashews, almonds, pistachios) – 2 tbsp


๐Ÿณ Instructions


1. Roast the Besan


1. Heat a heavy-bottomed pan or kadai on low flame.



2. Add ½ cup ghee and let it melt.



3. Add 1 cup besan to the ghee.



4. Roast on low to medium flame, stirring continuously to avoid lumps or burning.



5. Roast until the mixture turns golden brown and gives a nutty aroma (about 10–12 minutes).


2. Prepare Sugar Syrup


1. In another pan, heat 2 cups water or milk (you can mix both if you like).



2. Add ¾ to 1 cup sugar and stir until dissolved.



3. You can also add a pinch of saffron (optional) for extra flavor.




3. Combine


1. Slowly pour the hot sugar syrup into the roasted besan mixture while stirring continuously.

⚠️ Be careful — it may splutter!



2. Keep stirring until the halwa thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.


4. Finish


1. Add cardamom powder and mix well.



2. Garnish with chopped dry fruits.
