How to make chicken roll

 

Chicken roll is a super tasty and popular street food, especially loved in India. It’s basically a soft paratha/wrap stuffed with spicy chicken filling, veggies, and sauces. Here’s a simple Chicken Roll Recipe for you:


🌮 Ingredients


For the paratha/wrap:


All-purpose flour (maida) – 2 cups


Salt – ½ tsp


Oil – 2 tsp


Water – as needed



For chicken filling:


Boneless chicken – 250 g (small pieces)


Onion – 1 large (sliced)


Capsicum – ½ cup (sliced, optional)


Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp


Green chili – 1 (chopped, optional)


Red chili powder – 1 tsp


Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp


Coriander powder – 1 tsp


Garam masala – ½ tsp


Lemon juice – 1 tsp


Salt – to taste


Oil – 2 tbsp



For assembling:


Onion slices – ½ cup (soaked in lemon juice & a pinch of salt)


Green chutney / mayonnaise / tomato ketchup – as preferred


🥣 Preparation


Step 1: Make the paratha/wrap


1. Mix flour, salt, and 2 tsp oil. Add water little by little to make a soft dough.



2. Rest for 20 minutes.



3. Roll into thin rotis and cook on a tawa with little oil until golden spots appear. Keep aside.




Step 2: Prepare chicken filling


1. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and sauté until golden.



2. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chili, and fry.



3. Add chicken pieces and cook for 2–3 minutes.



4. Add chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.



5. Cover and cook until chicken is soft and fully cooked.



6. Add capsicum and sauté for 2 minutes. Finish with lemon juice.


Step 3: Assemble the roll


1. Place one paratha on a flat surface.



2. Spread a little green chutney, mayo, or ketchup.



3. Add chicken filling in the center.



4. Top with lemon-onion slices.



5. Roll tightly and wrap with butter paper/foil.


🍴 Serving


Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or even a snack!
