Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries:
Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries:
Ingredients:
2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp ground cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)
Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
2. Prepare the Sweet Potatoes: Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into evenly sized fries (about 1/4-inch thick). Try to make them as uniform as possible for even cooking.
3. Season the Fries: In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. If you want extra crispiness, sprinkle the fries with cornstarch and toss again to coat.
4. Arrange on the Baking Sheet: Spread the fries out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they’re not overlapping. This will help them get crispy.
5. Bake: Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the fries over and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy on the edges. Keep an eye on them towards the end to make sure they don’t burn.
6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately. These are perfect as a side or a snack!
These crispy baked sweet potato fries are a healthier alternative to regular fries and still deliver on taste and texture. Pair them with your favorite dipping sau
ce like ketchup, ranch, or a spicy aioli!
