Besan Ladoo RecipeMelt-in-the-Mouth Indian Sweet

Besan Ladoo is a classic Indian sweet made with roasted gram flour (besan), ghee, sugar, and flavored with cardamom. These rich and aromatic ladoos are perfect for festivals like Diwali and special occasions. Follow this easy recipe to make delicious Besan Ladoo at home.

Ingredients

- 2 cups besan (gram flour)

- ½ cup ghee (clarified butter)

- ¾ cup powdered sugar

- ½ teaspoon cardamom powder

- 2 tablespoons chopped almonds and pistachios (optional)

 Step-by-Step Recipe

### **Step 1: Roast the Besan**

1. Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan on low heat.

2. Add the besan and roast it, stirring continuously, until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma (about 15-20 minutes).

3. Make sure the besan does not burn by keeping the heat low.

**Step 2: Cool and Add Sugar**

1. Once the besan is roasted, turn off the heat and let it cool slightly.

2. Add powdered sugar and cardamom powder, mixing well.

### **Step 3: Shape the Ladoos**

1. While the mixture is still warm, take small portions and shape them into round ladoos using your palms.

2. If the mixture feels dry, add a little melted ghee.

### **Step 4: Garnish and Serve**

1. Garnish with chopped nuts.

2. Let the ladoos set for 30 minutes before storing them in an airtight container.

## **Tips for Perfect Besan Ladoo**

- **Roasting is Key:** Proper roasting ensures the best flavor and texture.

- **Ghee Proportion:** Do not reduce the ghee; it helps bind the ladoos.

- **Mixing Sugar at the Right Time:** Add sugar only after the besan has cooled slightly to prevent it from melting.
