How to make milk cake

Here is a perfect, soft, and delicious Milk Cake (Kalakand-style + traditional style) recipe you can make at home! 🍰🥛✨

MILK CAKE RECIPE (Soft & Grainy Like Sweet Shop)

✅ Ingredients

Full-fat milk – 2 liters

Lemon juice/vinegar – 1–2 tbsp

Sugar – 1 cup

Ghee – 2 tbsp

Cardamom powder – ½ tsp

⭐ Method (Traditional Milk Cake)

1️⃣ Boil the milk

Add 2 liters full-fat milk to a heavy pan.

Boil and keep stirring until milk reduces to half.

2️⃣ Curdle the milk slightly

Add 1 tbsp lemon juice slowly.

Mix until milk becomes grainy (do NOT split fully like paneer).

This grainy texture gives the authentic milk cake feel.

3️⃣ Cook the mixture

Continue cooking on low flame.

Stir until it becomes thick and leaves sides of the pan.

Add ghee and mix.

4️⃣ Add sugar

Add 1 cup sugar.

Cook again until it becomes thick, sticky, and grainy.

5️⃣ Add flavor

Add cardamom powder.

Mix well.

6️⃣ Setting the milk cake

Grease a steel bowl or tray.

Pour the mixture and press it evenly.

Let it rest for 6–8 hours (best overnight).

👉 This gives the perfect brown bottom and white top like sweet shops.

7️⃣ Cut & serve

After it sets, cut into blocks.

Enjoy soft, grainy, delicious milk cake! 😋
